Anyone know of any company in (or near) Tyneside doing Christmas tree
_rental_? They exist in some other counties, mainly in the south. The
idea is, you get delivered a living tree in a pot, decorate (and look
after - mainly water!) it over the festive season, and then early in
January, rather than taking it to the tip, the company collect it, and
look after it during the rest of the year. (Some families rent the same
tree every year; others, as any given tree will of course get bigger as
it grows, get a different one each year, so it still fits the space
available.
Some people like the idea as they don't like the idea of killing a tree,
but still like to have a real tree - more satisfying (smell, etcetera).
[Also, a living tree won't shed needles.]
I'm not after discussion of whether the idea is daft or not - only
seeking whether any company is doing it; as I say, there are companies
in some other counties that do, but in the last couple of years, I
haven't found any around Tyneside.
